Nightmare House / Nightmare House 2 / Nightmare House: The Original Mod is a free, horror-themed first-person-shooter game based on the Source Engine as a mod.
Wake up inside an abandoned hospital with no understanding of how you came to be there, only a vague memory of the girl from Nightmare House haunts you. Soon it will be difficult to determine between a dream and reality. How long will it take you to realize that escape is not an option?

Nightmare House was originally released as a map pack, and later as an installable mod with Nightmare House 2. You can still find the original files over on our Moddb page.
Today, you can simply install "Nightmare House: The Original Mod" for free using a Steam client and Half Life 2. If you don't have Half Life 2, you can purchase it from Steam.
Nightmare House was originally released in 2005 as a small map for Half Life 2. In 2007, work on Nightmare House 2 began, and the full mod Nightmare House 2 was released in 2010, with the last update in 2015.
